Participation of the Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan Kalandarzoda M.S. at the Third Women’s Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On June 10, 2021, the third Women’s Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Dushanbe, in which, by the invitation of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs, the chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan Kalandarzoda Mavluda Sattori took part. Also, the forum was attended by representatives of the SCO member states and invited guests from among politicians, representatives of business, civil society and science.

Within the framework of the Forum were held Plenary session: “Institutions promoting the role of women in SCO countries” and four Panel sessions: “Improving interaction and cooperation on gender issues within the SCO”; “Empowering Women to Develop Entrepreneurship”; “Result of struggling all forms of violence against women and girls in the family and in society. Sharing best practices and experiences in this area and setting future priorities”; “Strengthening women strengths in response to global and regional challenges”.

The main objectives of the Forum were further promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls in the SCO Agenda to create an effective platform for consolidating the women’s potential of the Organization’s member states in order to achieve the SDGs, promote regional cooperation, and contribute to the opening of new points of contact in the framework of addressing critical issues of the Beijing Platform for Action.

Participants of the Third Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Women discussed and prepared projects of a Joint Statement by representatives of the National Mechanisms for the Advancement of Women of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and an Action Plan; recommendations for the governments of the SCO member states to improve the National Mechanism for the Advancement of Women in each of the SCO member states are presented; recommendations for the development of women’s entrepreneurship, increasing the proportion of women in the number of business owners and shareholders of large companies are presented; recommendations are presented to reduce all forms of violence against women and girls in the family and society; presenting effective remedies in the SCO member states; recommendations were made to increase the proportion of women in the parliaments of the SCO member states, in ministerial positions, in leadership positions, in law enforcement and judicial bodies, as well as at the level of local executive authorities in the SCO member states.
