Meeting dedicated to the celebration of the National Flag’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan

On November 23, 2020, the Supreme Economic Court held a meeting dedicated to the celebration of the National Flag’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan Kalandarzoda Mavluda opened the meeting and noticed that the flag is one of the important symbols of statehood and has a special place in the history of Tajik statehood. According to historical sources, the flag of our nation has a history of more than 4000 years.

The history of the statehood of the Aryan ancestors shows that the realm of the period adopted and used symbols, signs, symbols and other means to express the existence of their state.

Among the symbols, the flag has a colorful and ancient history. Archaeological research has shown that the flag-raising of the Aryan people dates back to the period of the Peshdadi and Kayanid dynasties, which heralds the liberation of our people at the origin of the statehood of mankind.

In the world-famous Tajik and Persian literature, including the poems of Rudaki, Firdavsi, Saadi, Daqiqi, Nosiri Khusrav, Nizami Ganjavi, Mavlonoi Rumi and others, the greatness of the flag is described as a symbol of patriotism.

Nowadays, each recognized state has its own national shrine – its national flag. Indeed, the adoption of the Flag has given a new meaning and content to the process of statehood and the life and thinking of our people.

National Flag is the pride of every independent Tajikistan’s citizen, a symbol of unity and solidarity, honor, patriotism and national identity of our cultural people and reflects the creative goals of the Tajiks in its colors.

28 years ago at the historical XVI session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, which was recorded as a historic and crucial session in the political and social life of the new society of Tajikistan, along with other important issues of those tough days, the issue of the National Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan , the deputies adopted the National Flag, recognizing the importance and crucial role of the Flag in the promotion of the state, as well as taking into account the flagship traditions of their ancestors. That is, the National Flag is a good result of the above-mentioned session of the Supreme Council and its peers.

The National Flag’s adoption came at a very sensitive, crucial and complex period in the history of our people, when independence was still in its first steps, but the existence of the state and nation was in real danger.

The National Flag’s adoption at such a crucial time is the highest patriotic initiative and the first attempt to eliminate the threat to the ancient state and nation.

The people of Tajikistan and its courageous young people under the leadership of The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon came together under the flag of the nation, ended the civil war, brought peace and tranquility to the country. The moments of kissing the National Flag at the historic Session and the promise of peace to its land and people proved the loyalty of the Head of State to the Motherland and the respect and dignity of the National Flag.

The people of Tajikistan believe in the historical originality and spiritual impact of the National Flag as a very important and valuable national phenomenon, and in the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan – an important political document and document of high legal status, along with the Emblem and National Anthem and recognized it as one of the fundamental elements of the constitutional structure and national statehood.

The Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On State Symbols of the Republic of Tajikistan” regulates our state symbols, including the order of raising and use of the National Flag, as well as the placement of the image of the Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan, respect and devotion to them as state symbols.

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Holidays”, the National Flag’s Day is celebrated throughout the country, annually, on November 24 with pride of the state and statehood and thanks to the era of independence and sovereignty.

It is a matter of pride that the flag, which stands in the center of the capital, is included in the Guinness Book of Records. This factor testifies to the sacred reverence of the nation.

Since the day our nation received the Flag, many fundamental changes have taken place in the life of the country and society, and favorable conditions have been created for the development of all spheres of the economy, science, education and spirituality.

Friendship and cooperation, including diplomatic, economic and cultural links with many foreign countries have expanded, our country has become a full member of the United Nations and other influential international organizations and today our national flag is placed next to the flags of other countries in high world organizations. This, of course, is a source of pride, encouragement and respect for all our compatriots.

Young and old members of the country are confident that the National Flag of Tajikistan as a symbol of freedom, a prosperous and peaceful future and a source of pride for the Tajik people will forever shine.

For us, the Tajiks, the national flag is a pride in the past and future of the people, a symbol of the nation, state and homeland, national unity, national identity and the best means of educating the younger generation in the spirit of national pride and protection of high historical and cultural values.

It was noted that the sense of patriotism and national pride of the honorable people of Tajikistan, following the wise, constructive and peaceful and humane policy of The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The national flag will be united, and with love and devotion to our beloved homeland and people, we will make greater efforts to strengthen state independence, national unity, prosperity of the ancestral land and the progress of our independent state.

Also at today’s meeting the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court Aminzoda Z.T., Chairman of the Economic Court of Dushanbe Abdullozoda F., the Supreme Economic Court’s staff Damonzoda G. and Farhodzoda V. made presentations on a various topics and participants debated on the topics was raised.
